It's actually a cliche of "your hidden feelings are unique" but it's just so wholesome and theyre both adorable and clumsy

moody_bish created a topic of Moscow's Dawn

He knows what he wants, no he doesn't. Someone is guiding him, he resists. Someone shackles him, he complies. The fck? It ruins the stubborness and wastes the frustration i felt towards his persistence over something when he goes on to fall back to basically losing everything after the ingenius "lets pretend i follow, but look at me actually fall off a cliff".

And the empty narrative about "whose body this is, who's in control" when it's just the physique that actually changed. Also if he even bothered to search his past self in the internet too. Or the fact that for someone who gives no fcks about other people's opinion, she gets a 180° fall and from who? From a classisist (?), traditional pianist who'd rather everyone plays like the composer and kills off any potential signature. Heck, the whole interaction was full of something and nothing at the same time. Big info was revealed but we've derailed from there. And she's just jumping from one boy to another as well, already cozy by romantic thoughts. Even Anastasia feels more convincing with her lack of interest towards romance.

Tldr, while he is indeed human. Complicated and self-contradicting...the pacing and direction is so messy that I don't feel like following his journey (despite my long rant and given how i care this much).

Like how is a kid, despite the permission, left without a parent? Like, asian parents leaving their kids to manage their money, reading contracts?? In the same episode that his dad goes on investing?

moody_bish created a topic of Solo Leveling

The story at the end is a special side story, so it's understandably rushed (and almost "easy" if you ignore erased repetitions he has had). However, the overall pacing fits more to the context of remembering every shit he had to go through, his boosted levels, his familiarity with his enemies, and the fact that he retains so much power in a realm supposedly pristine of mana. It's visually quick, but the journey that led to it was NOT and maybe that's the downside of a series — people forget the emotions and aren't too immersed enough to recognize the in-between when he spent 27 years in solitude, when he reunited with the people who forgot him, when he does met those who remember him, and when he trains his son to experience even just a tiny bit of his well-placed perseverance without losing as much as he did.

The special episodes are just balm to soothe the aches he's had as much as it exploits an existing plot of repetition. It's just like how he handled the system that was supposed to use him, jinwoo devoured it for his benefit to live just as he exploited a reincarnation to take back what he lost—and i think that's so in tune with why I love this series as much as I love the fact that the Main Artist's disciples added these special episodes.

Like ngl, i do have gripes over his initial behavior. A lot of which were related to his slow responsiveness and lack of efficiency which lead to some unnecessary sacrifices. So when the ending emphasized "solo" and proceeded to highlight the lessons he learned when dealing with his son or living the "normal" life as a police, it gave me closure.

But anyway, it's not my agenda to impose my 'poetic' feelings for it unto others. I'm just compelled to highlight what I love about it since there are also equally passionate dislikes in the comments hahahaha

This life is doomed, you say? I’d rather think it’s good! After four years of a life that...

<regression + screencast> people may say it's never too late for success but starting early beats having to go thru the tragic idol life all over again.

"Oh yeah, i wonder why your son has a chip on his shoulder" when you give your damn best to your cats! Like both sides deserve his responsible affections but its annoying that his cats knew it more than his son did. Call it biased sociability as he is indeed cat obsessed but the one who suffered most was his son. Also I can be lenient towards the cats as theyre basically imititating humans, not necessarily one (hence more instinctual). But I have to give it to the MC. His patience and ability to take it upon him to be "responsible" (for something that wasn't his in the first place). Just glad that Miyako can still be a needed adult figure, and we have a safety net of relatives.

PS the black-white appendix of a character is ... also as black and white as his hair lmao. A bad guy, a good guy... a little half assed friend to have

moody_bish created a topic of Miss 180

Why does she have to be... pathetic? Like great set up of skills until its:
1. Flustered by her white lotus friend (or naive idk, her tactlessness is vomit inducing) wanting to date their mutual guy friend (who doesnt even remember a gift he gave, unless plottwist it was another guy)
2. A useless dad and younger brother...sure, let's add some bleak household to the stack of dreariness
3. Come...dy? Meh.

I really liked the premise but i dont find myself wanting latch myself into it esp when she isn't so daring herself. No contrast

I love that his charms are mostly because he is kind, helpful, and passionate. The visuals come second AND he gained more confidence hence his visual impact increases.

Some chapters felt cut off tho.

Spilt milk over mom's sorrow and all that but if she was THAT remoresful, how did she even have the guts to go thru the process of dating, lying, and marrying someone else who even had their own kid? It really erases a lot of possible empathy towards a similarly grieving person as much as it makes her remorse self-gratifying while dragging everyone else.

And I could argue that the author did well in using this 3rd pov for Shinwoo to be enlightened that he is also hurting ppl who loves him when he continues to "punish himself" with negative thoughts. Meaning "they have the same self gratifying destructive coping mechanism." However, he was the one abandoned...Shinwoo is the guy who holds on until they walk out of his life... but the mom never took initiative to go back, to actually punish herself by receiving Shinwoo's explicit hatred, to submit herself and apologize face to face. No! She just unironically comforts her guilt by shutting other people, neither confronting her past nor appreciating her present.

moody_bish created a topic of Work, Fight and Love

Reread: i was too indulgent. The woman literally had everyone suffer, or at least triggered their suffering, just coz she was suffering.

She hated ppl finding their happiness just because she couldnt...and the men had their emotions tragically played. Main couple was saved when the girl left, but now... the other guy has to suck it up as he lost both

Fck. NONE of her revenge was justified coz she retaliated to the wrong people and then she has the nerve to think she'd regret leaving the family who cornered her all the while ruining one life and almost ruining two more. -- and ig that makes a typical villain, it just doesnt feel good knowing she doesnt feel regretful at all, those tears were just her pathetic feelings clutching at mr. Yoon whom she shackled to be miserable with her.

Mr. Yoon wasnt strong enough and now he's literally tied to her... and the misunderstandings, jesus christ, i was really immersed in the drama the first time lmao. I still liked the dialogues but a lot of the pain were too intensified and unnecessary. If it wasnt for the two female coworkers, i'd think the author is like the typical bl writer who makes women a nuisance or utterly bitter.

I mean, the moment he goes on removing his mask out of self confidence is already a lapse of judgment but even his bias for humans is so funny. How big of a hubris do you have to spare a general who uses his men as bait and talks about dinner as his army dies? Listen to the damn dwarf who got conned by that shit. Even the wotch knew to kill the hero! And u call yourself a genius strategist, have some tact to know who to save. Like the ruler of the city they wanna trade with talks about "demons are demons" as if humans aren't any less, or rather, even MORE devious and cunning. Like ma'am, you've got HUMAN pirates coming at you and you draw the line with "demons"?

Han had seen Shinwoo at the same "place" but it was someone else who took Shinwoo home. And finally, Shinwoo has somehow gained security (even if I'm a little uneased by who called him and why). And I just continue to root for this couple

Sure, im just stopping at 17 and could be missing more of its substance. But with an FL so warped in her fears and supposed affections, it's so draining to read her perspective. It could be the execution because Ive read a number of MCs with similar fears but the author highlights her cowardice TOO MUCH. I'm at a point where I could almost root for the "goddess" who knows what she wants and go for it, and ive only seen her twice. This story basically reminds me that roles exists because some characters can't handle being anything else and the author washes her out to be exactly like the common cannon fodders. Right now, her status is solely because he latched on a "scent" and has been obsessed to claim it to himself, hence he has deeper emotions for her as she constantly show hesitation and runs away from him. 17 chapters, there should at least be some more concreteness to his attachment but because the author is SOOOO focused on her fears, it's so draining and monotone.

moody_bish created a topic of Punch Drunk Love

I dont even understand anymore whether our MC wants to be with his lover or uselessly cover about the latter's reputation when he already knows that no matter if they are indeed together or not, these fools will STILL make it difficult for them. Like he tells his lover to maximize what he already has but he himself go round and round with this dirty politics that brings nothing but useless antagonist highlights coz these lovers still serve them with "excuses to threat them".

With how they saw him grow up and the ways he helped them, i want to believe that the route would ens with: "as long as you are truly happy, and even happier than you could have been"... coz im so tired of the 'realistic homophobic oldies at the countryside' when there's already an 'outsiders who wants to scam him and act like it's for his own good' at play. It's just pitiful if he cant even have these old peeps support him.

My lacking romantic aspirations is exactly because I think like Shinwoo and has never had the love meter to match Han's maturity.

I piled up chapters and really needed some time to absorb chapter 45. Ive cried from a few chapters early on but I was nearly hyperventilating just processing the words and emotions of ch45. Shinwoo's confession. Han's words which felt like words that spoke to not just Shinwoo but anyone who thought like him...basically like me. And it's like a rollercoaster of heartwarming embrace of validation and bitter awakening that this is fiction... it's an imitation of a "what if" or "couldve been", an "almost true but not actually tangible", a mimicry that has been looked down on by early philosophers because it is an imagined state of reality. Emotions are there, but it is as fleeting as a wishful thinking until a person in the tangible world sincerely utters the same words with the same sentiment to you and YOU alone..instead of a witnessed scene from a window, separate from you and never truly directed at you.
