I honestly liked it at first but then I realized the ML is just reinforcing the gender dynamics. He only seems heroic because he is helping out the MC. However at the end of the day he is another dominant Alpha who can get away with anything while omegas and betas would be prosecuted if they fought back. And in the end he didn't care if the MC liked him or not he wasn’t gonna let him get away. Therefore the ML would never help to disassemble the gender hierarchy because it benefits him.
Justice wasn't the center of the story here, so it's understandable that the author glazed over it despite it being an interesting conflict.
Regarding the ML not letting go of the MC, I think we have a whole mine that needs digging. We saw him respecting the MC and holding him in high regards. We saw his effort and he laid his feelings bare (readers POV). He didn't follow the MC out because he's the omega who awakened him and the only omega who can appease his rut. He threaded his way and earned the MC. He courted him. He stood his ground and he never exercised his power as an awakened dominant alpha to bend the omega in his way (unlike other dominant alphas which was hated by the anti-alpha protesters).

Wow it feels like I’m watching bridgerton with how perfectly the translation encapsulates the way they spoke back then
