yes so far the story is exactly the same, even the time line. The novel has more NSFW scenes than the manhua I guess. But Idk, the novels NSFW scenes only near at the end and extra chapter so.. let's see

Yes, this is the closest to the actual novel.
1. Manhua
2. Donghua (animation) & audio drama
3. The Untamed (live action drama)

I think they'll censor the animation as well but im just assuming.. I dont think they'll be able to be true to the novel coz you know.. And then there's the drama series.. Lol i absolutely love the WHOLE cast but they cant be more than "brothers" ofc you'll just know.. The production crew gave us subtle hints here and there so their true relationship will be obvious
Overall, if you think the novel was mindblowing then you will totally love all of the adaptations accurate or not so much. They're all great!!

I'd say the novel is better. You get more insight into the lore and emotions/thoughts.

I'd say the CD drama comes first tho, bc it's really long, it covers almost everything (except the sexy parts) in the novel

I have the pbf file on the novel on my phone. So I have it read it out loud to me. That way I get more out of it. And man some of the scenes are so much more funny, especially the ones that aren't in the manhua. Like with Uncle Lan waking up due to Wei playing the flute badly dealing with the arm.

Yes but op asked for closeness/accuracy to the original novel not our preference and length of the series.. The manhua and donghua are still ongoing.. So we couldn't say if it'll be true to the novel or not..
So for accuracy i listed the drama last because the crew can only do so much no thanks to their censorship.. But i still gave them props for giving us everything they can.. Like the chicken scene and wangxian bowing to their ancestors (getting married) also making WY sleep on the roof of LWJ's room (some sort of proposal).. Lmao

if you know about all the adaptations you'll know that the audio drama is the best and most accurate adaptation of them all

oh i see your input here about it.. true i guess but the manhua skips out on so much detail and nuance in the words but it's up to preference

but i think at the very least you should have the audio drama above the donghua because the donghua has rearranged the entire storytelling so you can't say it's like the novel as much. they censor more too so it's definitely less accurate such as the princess carry scene and context

right? you miss out on so much of wwx's internal monologues which they manage to include in the audio drama. there are really only subtle differences which are changed to fit a listening experience more such as narration of descriptions becoming sound effects instead
