Yes, but it's a novel so they are trying to present the characters first and establish the plot before anything happens. I feel is going to be a loooong ride so it's better to wait until it has at least 30 chapters or read the novel, either way I am in.

And He Tian is sad in this chapter coz after the play the three of them went out to chill and Little Mo went straight home
He Tian is sad coz he knows his days with Mo and the boys are numbered

they’re all sad because they know their happy times are coming to an end. Mo had fun but sees his sickly mom laying in bed and he feels guilt and i suppose wants to support her. But all of this boils up resulting in him angrily crushing his homework.
They’re not sad except for Mo and the black haired dude who’s sensing that their times are going to be over soon or will be over.

To be honest after ch.348 pple already knew there will be angst but ox just give us the previous chaps to warm our heart bf torturing us... so it is not really out of blue.

One time He Tians brother was talking with him about it (when He Tian got really mad at him afterwards) and the second time in the Christmas special when He Tian was talking to Lil Mo about how he moved countries. I read these parts today so I remember it well.

yes, but the last chapter before the confusing chapter(the one we are discussing) He Tian helping Lil Mo to pee. So after the peeing chapter there should have been a chapter in which the characters are having the He Tian is leaving conversation to make everything flow. But it went from He Tian helping Lil Mo to pee to everyone is sad without any explanation as to why they are sad. Those chapter you are talking about are in the past so they do not flow with the current chapters. But you are interpreting it that way because the story never explains why they are sad.
