Are you... trying to say yuri doesn't fetishize WLW relationships for men? By sourcing a wordpress doc from 2017?? Like yeah I do agree that BL/Yaoi probably has more fetishization than GL/Yuri but saying that you can't compare the two is totally erasing the fetishization that WLW people face in all different types of media, including Yuri. Bisexual Homoromantic and sexually polyamorous. Respectful responses only, please be kind in the comments.
As a lesbian woman I think heterosexual people shouldn't write homosexual pornography (including yaoi/yuri). I see it as a form of cultural appropriation and disrespectful fetishization of homosexual individuals. I think that homosexuality should definitely be portrayed and consumed by heterosexual people in other forms of media, such as non-sexual comics, television, movies, etc. as long as it's respectful.
However, I recognize that this is an issue that concerns both heterosexual and homosexual individuals so I would love to hear the opinions of other homosexuals and heterosexuals.
p.s When I say homosexuals I also include bisexuals and pansexuals, since I think they can have authentic homosexual experiences. I would also love to hear some opinions from bi/pan folks since they have a unique perspective on the matter.
