I knew from previous chapters that Cheol’s dad’s inferiority complex is the reason why he treats Cheol like shit. Cheol and his uncle look alike and they’re both smart. At first, I’d thought Cheol has internalized homophobia, but I think the reason why he keeps denying he’s gay or maybe bi (personally I think he’s gay) is because he’s genuinely scared of his father and can’t come to terms with his sexuality. It’s like it would be another reason why his father doesn’t love him back. Throughout Cheol’s entire life, he tried to earn his father’s approval. He wants to be the top student to please his dad. The last thing most ppl in his situation wants to do is admit, “Oh yeah I’m gay.” He knew his father wasn’t going to react well. The first thing he did after his father found out is that is get into a relationship with a woman and marry her even though I don’t think he was in love with her.
It was bound to come out though because his brother was desperate to go study abroad and Minyoung wants him to himself. There was already some foreshadowing last chapter. Unpopular opinion but I’m liking the unpacking of the past. Cheol has every right to be angry. Every person he loved played in his face including Minyoung. If anything, I think Minyoung hurt Cheol the most because he was supposed to be his safe space.
Disclaimer: Just in case, being gay does not mean you should be loved less than everyone else. Cheol’s dad is a homophobic asshole with an inferiority complex towards his brother and unhealed trauma. The exact same with Cheol’s brother.
As much as I love the smut this chapter, I’m trying to figure out if that stalker Ryu Jaehee that Jeong Cheol saved twice is the indirect reason Ji Min-young told his father that Cheol’s gay. Min-young is a tactician. He always has a plan. I thought at first he did it because he wanted to find a way to get Cheol to runaway to him, while getting him out of his toxic home situation, but then the author introduced this Jaehee.
Okay with that being said Choi Yi-tae eating ass…yeah that Woojin’s man frfr. Choi was probably always bi-curious and wanted Woojin’s cookie that whole time, but Woojin lives rent free in his own head to notice! Ughh I wish the uploaders were someone else.
Su-ah lost me two chapters ago. I’d wished Juhyeok hit him some more. Wtf was that? Juhyeok was right. Su-ah doesn’t think about him at all. He’s blinded by jealousy and lust. That was Juhyeok’s first time and he wasn’t considerate at it. Su-ah just kept going despite Yuhyeok asking him to stop and then he cum inside of him! Nahhhhh Juhyeok deserves so much better!
I’d dropped this a while ago because I’d wanted TJ and Ian to be endgame and didn’t want to waste my time. Idk from the beginning I’d just felt like Jo was a space holder, like someone that’s good for you, but is not for you. Now that I know TJ is endgame, I might read from where I left off. I could understand being annoyed if you were team Jo though.
They both have trauma and we’re seeing the progression of Taegun working through his. Like Eun-seong I don’t think it will ever go away, but it will get easier. Although it doesn’t look like much, there is progress and I appreciate Eun-seong being patient. At least Taegun is taking the time to explain to Eun-seong how he’s feeling instead of bottling it in like he did before. This is just a character that is scared of falling in love. It didn’t come out of nowhere. It came from emotional and sexual abuse from the last person he loved. I think this is pretty realistic. Healing isn’t linear.
The author needs to stick this genre bc the third short story is wild! I was not expecting that!
After the latest chapter, I’d went back and read the first four chapters. I don’t normally re-read early chapters of Jinx bc it’s disturbing. I think a lot of ppl was expecting the flashbacks to make them feel bad for Jaekyung and to justify his past behaviors. Right now, I think it was meant to for us to get a backstory as to why he’s a shitty person. There is no justification! He didn’t have a great relationship with neither of his parents, he didn’t have any friends, or any romantic relationships. He’s extremely underdeveloped fostering relationships. The closest people to him are his coaches and he does have a soft spot for grannies. He found a “jinx” that quiets out the final words of his father, he never dealt with his trauma. He didn’t experience warmth. So, essentially how do you expect for someone to be a good friend, a good partner, or a good boyfriend if that’s not something he never experienced and/or witnessed? Especially if they never put in the work to heal, just covered it up.
The second interaction with Dan was beyond horrific (ch 2-4), but you see Jaekyung drinking the milk and spraying cologne the morning after. The only thing is that Dan grew up feeling warmth. His grandma was his anchor. What his first coach said is something Jaekyung needed to hear, but I’m irritated that Dan had to suffer bc of Jaekyung’s unhealed trauma. This is a cliche example of “hurt people hurt people” wrapped up in a BL.
I had a feeling that Jaeha manipulated Taegun into sleeping with other men, but that was worst than I’d imagined. Nasty work! Then, he has the audacity to come back like Taegun owes him something! Throw him away! No wonder Taegun keeps fighting himself to not fall for anyone else.
Absolutely no shade to those who like the latest chapter. I just read that chapter twice and I don’t like it. I tried reading again after hearing some other perspectives. This chapter just made it clear that Jaekyung knew what Dan likes and chose not to do it this whole time! The only reason why he did it now is prove a point and at his big age, he can’t figure out he likes Dan? I don’t know I just want Dan to experience genuine, heartfelt sex. Maybe I don’t like it bc as far fetch as it is, I’d wanted Jaekyung to say no, this is not what he wants and not try to have sex with Dan right now.
Is the ML a cop or something? What does he mean that the MC interfered with his work? This is not a BDSM relationship, this is a toxic situationship, with the ML having all these boundaries and demands, but expects the MC to not have any. This is very one-sided and the MC is too stupid and reckless to stop being stupid and reckless! WTH happened?? This manwha started off well and now everyone’s confused.
I knew when Heesung came into the scene that he was just as toxic as Jaekyung and this chapter just confirms it. Jaekyung is an asshole. Everyone knows he’s an asshole and although he treated Dan like shit, it was obvious. Heesung is manipulative and acts all cute. Technically, Potato was too inebriated to give consent and Heesung knew he was a virgin. So, not only did he take advantage of Potato, but when Potato clearly misunderstood what happened, he freaking goes along with it talking about you should take responsibility for me!! I’m not going to lie, I might hate that more. Idk…
I’m so happy that Kim Dan left! I hope him and his grandma enjoy the west coast together! This has to be my favorite chapter this season. Jaekyung, you feel shit because you are piece of shit. He never acknowledged any potential feelings for Kim Dan bc he only thought of him as his possession and not as another person that has feelings. He used and abused Kim Dan when he was at his lowest. I’m going to keep saying but I don’t know how Mingwa is going to gaslight us to make this relationship work in the future. Kim Dan should never go back!
I will not type this and lie that Jaekyung isn’t a dick! Honestly, the only reason why I’m reading this is because I’m curious how the hell Mingwa is going to gaslight everyone to think this has the potential to be a loving, healthy relationship. However, I agree with Jaekyung this chapter (he didn’t have to throw the gift twice though). When Kim Dan said he was getting that gift, I always thought it was a horrible idea and he should have just focused on his job. Jaekyung doesn’t deserve Kim Dan’s feelings nor heart. He has to push those feelings aside. I want Jaekyung to injure his shoulder, but not really bc he going to blame Kim Dan and treat him worst. To think there could be another level of fuck Jaekyung!
Yep! This is just ball full of misunderstandings moving down a hill. If only one of them was brave enough to confront the other person instead of making assumptions and acting based on those assumptions. Ugh they could have been a couple back in hs. The way how these misunderstandings are set up, I wouldn’t be surprised if that girl is his half-sister and the uke thinking that’s the seme’s ex gf. The uke reminds me of Lyle from Define the Relationship, just always in his head and never expressing how he feels.
Okay so I just finished the whole thing and I’d wished the second couple’s story was longer. Even if it was just one more chapter, it would have been nice to finally see him open up to all the members. I wanted to see them tell everyone about their relationship! Dawol’s backstory made my heart dropped and he deserves to be happy.
If I were to purchase vol 4 of this, will it end on the same cliffhanger as the last chapter uploaded? I’m thinking I should wait for vol 5 to come out to purchase. Anyone know?
Casca literally just got back to being sane and then freaking Griffith! You know what when I was first reading the series, I would see ppl write, “F Griffith!”,and I am both grateful and pissed off about finding out about Griffith. I’m grateful bc no one spoiled it for me, but omg F Griffith! Gus is an unfortunate magnet for pain and fighting. I just want him to win somehow against Griffith. Seeing him broken like that hurts. He literally lost his reason to fight and now he has to dig deep within himself to continue fighting.
I’m gonna need Kim Dan to yell at Jaekyung one time. All he needs to say is that, “He is doing his job, but you’re not listening!” At this pt, he’s being delulu and focusing his energy on getting a gift that would most likely mean nothing to Jaekyung! He needs to do his job! I know this is against Kim Dan’s natural personality but shdhgd he needs to step outside his comfort zone and tell him as a doctor, you would be royally fucked if you don’t sit your ass down.
