There's small hints that Mikorin and Mayu were intended to be a couple at one point. Originally Mayu was supposed to be a girl but mangaka figured that since Mikorin will have a hard time getting along with a Jr girl, it would be an impossible ship. Cus the two would have no reason to interact consistently. So mayu got turned into a boy. Hence why the 2 has a lot of chapters focused together and ongoing gags based on both.
you guys saying that she's annoying and have a terrible personality, but of course she have, this is the plot??? you didn't read the sinopse??? of course I'm hoping too that she have a great character development, but we are still in chapter 6, i think a lot of things will happen and nobody changes so quickly, and people who do self deprecating obviously is kinda annoying (I'm this kinda of person), it's hard to not talk bad about yourself, because you just want to protect yourself and she stayed like this for 10 years, i don't want hate i just want to people to understand what is going on
