The reason why yaoi fans oftentimes refuse to read or watch straight content is because the straight romances are ALL just the same exact 3 or 4 stereotypes, and most of them either have the 'Strong' female lead, who is in actuality very weak minded and falls in love with any dude at the drop of a hat, or the overly bubbly and oblivious girl. Along with the fact that most male leads are perverts with only women on the mind and relationships.

First of all, all women have grown up listening to the same fucking princess and prince bullshit and its in every single movie, book, and comic that is intended for those that are straight. BL was actually created with the intention to give women a break from the toxicity that comes from gender roles and stereotyping that has existed since the hunter-gatherer societies back when society was just beginning to be created. BL was not intended to represent real LGBTQIA+ relationships either and is purely a part of a non-existent fantasy relationship category. Straight content however has the same theme no matter what form it is in- it has been made purely for the lovesick straight woman/man to enjoy, and has been made to represent straight relationships as a whole.

I personally do not harbor any bad will towards the 'normal' cis straight content, and I am 99% sure that none of the other people who comment 'I wish this was BL' or refuse to read/ associate with straight content harbor any ill will either. It is just a preference to not read it and I wish people would stop hounding us about it just because they don't think that it's normal to not like it.

It is a preference to not associate with it, and I am sincerely sorry that being straight is so rocky that you have to get on other people's asses about liking LGBTQIA+ content because it doesn't go along with your own preferences and 'intrudes' on your contents comment section. （￣へ￣）
