I'm noticing that a lot of readers did not (or have chosen not to) understand the meaning behind that one specific scene. I haven't read it in a long time, but, from what I remember :
Itadori sort of steps into Fushiguro's subconscious. The scene that he witnesses is the personification of Fushiguro's feelings toward his sister. These feelings don't have to be specifically sexual for one's unconscious to appear as so, although in this case it seems like Fushiguro does harbor some romantic feelings for the one that he still regards as his sister.
Which is why he's so "repulsed" by himself for feeling this way and desperate to keep these feelings/part of himself that he probably doesn't even acknowledge in his conscious mind, buried and out of reach from others, and most importantly, from Itadori. The human psyche is far too complex to simply describe this scene as some "disturbing incestual mishaps".
Fishiguro has lost his step-sister prematurely, so there were probably unresolved feelings and words that he regrets not conveying to her.
I bought the uncensored version on a french official site (if you can, please support the artist !!! They don’t even have many followers on twitter which is actually fucking crazy) and the story is a masterpiece ?? It’s probably one of the best written bl i’ve ever read along with lost in the cloud and Reunion.
I remember starting it back in 2021, but then the chapters got uploaded less often which forced me to drop it (as i didn’t know, before YESTERDAY, whether or not it got translated in a official r18 version), apparently due to the authors (many ?) hiatus and also the fact that the work got taken by manta so the uploader was probably forced to drop the r18 version (i was devastated lmao).
I was finally able to read the r18 version completely this time with the side story (if we can call it that, it’s more of the story following the event of the main one right from where it ended and it still tackles a few issues and struggle with our couple that i wouldn’t consider being a part of a side story, it should’ve just been considered a part of the main one BUT ANYWAY. lol.) as well as the epilogue, discovering that it got translated officially AND IN MATURE VERSION in french was probably the happiest moment of this week for me lol !
Anyways, all that just to say that this is an incredible story that i would recommend to anybody interested in reading a bl that will mark them for a long time lol ! The story is quite heavy but also extremely realistic which caught some people off guard ! I related to the professor’s mentality a lot, it all felt very human. Once again, I would recommend it every time, if someone is willing to start a story with relationships and characters who have a realistic depth to them as well as hardships and struggles to surpass that everyone can relate to !
