This is just me but I’m getting very frustrated by the male lead’s lack of healing or rather the snail speed of healing.
My bigger frustration though is the lack of proper articulation by this manga regarding his physicality:
1. What caused the paralysis?
2. Is it poison?
3. Is it a cursed magic?
4. Is it some genuine biological problem with his body?
This amateur approach to the choice of the panels and choice of reader display is just just another level of buffoonery! Readers aren’t exactly dumb! ( ̄へ ̄)
Without being superfluous & hyperbolic like the examples you provided, both of which I have suffered from!
1. A pink eye is either bacterial or just allergic reaction—that is the diagnosis! & either it heals on its own or if it doesn’t go away you’d be given medications.
2. Broken bone! The diagnosis is whichever bone you fractured determined through an x-ray, after which surgical correction is done if it is required.
Both the examples you used are common and inapplicable here as treatment methods exist. The case we discuss for this manga is unique !
To use “your words”, his symptom is paralysis of lower body. And I repeat my points again for those who didn’t understand.
1. A paralysis like the one the mc is suffering from in “REALITY” is caused usually by muscle damage, nerve damage etc. Or stroke victims, physical accidents etc. None of which the ml suffered before he lost function of his legs.
2. If it’s not real life medical reasons that we know of to have caused his paralysis— it is clearly some poison or some magic of this world building in this manga.
3. Symptoms like fever, bleeding etc sure can be treated by doctors as they slowly determine the root cause. But a paralysis like this one with pain etc are usually treated with physical therapy & also painkillers. A potion is suddenly used as a panacea to cure the legs without any assessment of the disease itself.
4. And the fellow treating him has not clarified what kind of research he does for him to have enough expertise to pursue this current line of treatment.
5. That leaves us with only poison or magic, a reality of the manga world—which as you yourself can ascertain from reading this manga that it has not been properly developed by the author.
Perhaps you are the type of reader to accept such explanations by such authors & move on.
But for me as a reader this sort of shoddy story-building with no panels even showing the contemplation of the ml “how this might have happened to me”, which might’ve appealed to the reader on his mental state. None of it is done. He doesn’t even try to recall the point when his symptoms started. The contemplation of the people around him, his home, his work—-that would’ve been real investigation logically too.
I ain't reading all of that. His diagnosis is a damaged aura core. We know the diagnosis if that's what you have a problem with. Yes, there's no known treatment method in this situation, but there are similar treatments for aura, as described in the manga where they rely on a similar treatment from the north, but adapt it to have no side effects. Similar stuff is done every day in the medical community where doctors opt for new medications because of less side effects. You were complaining about the lack of knowledge regarding how the aura core was damaged, not regarding the actual diagnosis so my analogies still hold true.
What is the point of this discussion since you’re intolerant of other people’s factual view to the point of not wanting to read the rebuttal to your points. And fyi, the damaged aura is not the diagnosis but the symptom which they are trying to cure (which you’d know if you’d read my earlier comment). The root cause (diagnosis) have not been explored! Which is exactly my point. It’s called hypothesis, which are usually presented even in substandard mangas like this one!!!
I started this comment to articulate my own frustration on my reading experience here; not to attract some boorish insular troll. Everyone has different has different reading experience & expectation. I advise you not to impose yours dogmatically.
Blocked on my part. Let’s agree to disagree!
See, I’m also a gamer but these sort of mangas that make the characters so immersive & make it seem like the game reality is true reality is just ughhhh.
When the actual immersive tech comes to this point then I only I would understand these shoddy panels!!! Otherwise it’s just so cringe as fuck (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
All my fears came true! That edward Kwon is irredeemable! He and the traitor Daniel will receive no sympathy from me.
That psychotic asshole instead of pursuing his love life decided to kill a cat unapologetically and then torture soho. That is simply unforgivable. This is obviously the ultimate villain. A brilliant mind with no morality & ethics behind it! Things like these should be eliminated no matter what. Their only purpose is destruction
Everything about this manga is interesting esp. The clones. BUT just for once in the life of a manga reader, I would love for some author in such fantasy action type mangas to not use lolis and high school girls as love interest of the mc!!! I just know where this manga is headed in this issue.
Why is it so hard for the authors to use a partner who is also powerful and equal in status (by agre, ny generation); as opposed to someone like in this manga where a minor was clearly sexualised and that barely legal 18 year old tag given to assure us that everything is by the book!
Have the guts to give us equal partnership!!!
Those who don't agree, plz avoid my comment section. I didn't write the above to provoke but to clear out my own frustrations as a reader who loves to read manga.
While I agree with your general statement (tho as long as they act/behave like the adults they are I don't mind lolis as my mother and maternal great-aunt have the same body type and equally much of a babyface as a loli so "legal lolis" are just petite women to me but I absolutely hate it if they don't act their age but act childish)
The love interest being a high school girl in general is not that bad in this story bc the age gap is very small. The REAL problem is that sangwoo used to be her tutor and cares for her as his student, which set a power dynamic/relationship between them that usually should only exist between people with a much much bigger age gap.
She's an 18 y/o highschool student preparing for college exams (likely in last year of HS) and sangwoos age I don't know but if I remember correctly he was in his 2nd year of college? That'd be an age gap of somewhere around 3 years, it's small enough to be negligible considering they're both 18+
They're also def the same generation.
Why did the dumb omega keep quiet about the situation??!!! We had panels and chapter of the alpha not listening and raging!!! And finally we get a chapter where he is ready to listen and omega kept quiet! What is the author trying to achieve here?!!! These sort of cheap tactics just to keep reader attention is detrimental for his/her manga readership also ( ̄へ ̄)
Karhan! What a cutie pie! An ml that doesn’t even have to try ヾ(☆▽☆)
