Since Koreans apparently find these power dynamics (oppressor vs. oppressed) so interesting, I wonder what their opinion would be if a Westerner wrote a love story between a former career soldier in the Imperial Japanese Army and a "comfort woman" (Korean sex slaves who were victims of World War II). It would be insulting, wouldn't it? There's your answer to whether or not this story is worth reading.
This story is making me very uncomfortable. Poor Tei is basically repeating his own mother's life story (sold by the nation he loves to a distant land whose only connection he has is a mentally unstable guy), and on top of that, he's created this idea of his own "worth," and how almost everything he's done so far isn't related to genuine love but rather a distorted notion he has about his "duties" (as consort/wife) and to honor that position (which he sees as important to his former nation). I don't know how some people find this romantic, lol. Anyway, I think it's sad because BWT's stories have always been disturbingly romantic, but this one is falling short. I hope Dear 00 comes back soon :(
That's the point. Tei believes this is his duty, and he's the kind of person who would NEVER shirk his duty. Furthermore, I don't know which chapter, but there's one that explains how Leracal is militarily and politically incapable of protecting itself from Aranta (the marriage between the two serves precisely to prevent Aranta from conquering Leracal). In other words, there's nowhere for Tei to run (and even if he did, Leracal would suffer the consequences). It's an extremely unbalanced power dynamic.
Please, don't get me wrong! It's very clear that there's a lot of affection between the two and they genuinely care about each other, but the power imbalance and the fact that Tei himself sees their relationship as a duty he needs to fulfill (and the fact that he's not in love) makes me dislike their love story :''(
Yeah it's kinda like he's thinking that's what he should do.. as his mother pbly did the same thing... so he thinks that marriage for purpose ( whatever you say the marriage is in this story..to set alliance and so that) can never be a relationship of love, passion and respect between the couples... it's sad that Tei feels this way ( T∀T)

Can someone tell me WHAT is happening in the narrative (in as much detail as possible)? These stories always have such vague and pretentious plots.
(I'm just gonna copy/paste my reply to someone else~)
Alright, I assume the first part with the boss and Shadow was alright? He practically let them catch him so Enzo's men wouldn't look deeper into the company or get wind of them already making a deal. Now, let's move on to Rian and Enzo's part, hoho!
It's a honey trap, guys. Vulture's boss was practically bragging about Rian's sharp skills (and they're too sharp, damn it), while talking about how nice it would be to have some hard evidence. Well, they have that footage against the Consortium members and Fletcher, but the more, the merrier, right? And they really need something to tie Enzo to the murders, money laundering, and everything else.
I’m not sure how Rian intends to do it... maybe wearing a wire? That turtleneck was bizarre, but his style is always whatever, so who knows. Anyway, he's setting a trap, presenting it as a deal that if Enzo cooperates, he wouldn’t have to lose everything, including both Shine Media and his ties to the Outfit, while he made it ambiguous enough to be even sexually suggestive. But anyway, Enzo knows it's a trap, and Rian probably knows that he knows, but who cares if he's not gonna back off, right? Haha, seriously, this is ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
And the reason that Enzo got excited was that Rian had already started his move while still locked up. He used the names of the movies/series from Enzo's watchlist (remember the tablet Enzo told him to use if he was bored?) to send him the location of the trap he’s luring him into! Haha, and he called him 'idiota master' the same way ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ these dramatic fools!
But wow, Enzo is crazy! Just stop it, haha... I can’t with him looking like that!
Thank you i was confused ╥﹏╥
Waaa this was really helpful even tho I did understand what happened but getting clarity is always nice, its was fun to read sweety ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
You're welcome~
This is so fun~ wow, I can't with these two. Enzo's brain out of the window and Rian's such a professional, he gave his target a boner over the phone
ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
But I'm scared! Enzo's not gonna start fighting fair NOW. Rian should at least kick him once ╥﹏╥
Tldr: Vulture wants information on the consortium. Sends Uno whos specialty is honey traps. Even after Enzo, the target, rejects Uno at first, Uno still manages to hook Enzo's attention. Even after Enzo orchestrated the death of the consortium members, which is just a previous step in his umbra plan. Which means there is a deeper plot going on. Vulture gets scared because it turns out Enzo isnt just the head of Shine Media, an entertainment company, he is actually the Don Stefano of the Outfit. Intelligence companies dont touch that type of connection, because they are dangerous and ruthless.
Uno, noticing Enzo's interest, instead of fleeing like the rest of his company, actually calls Enzo and offers him the services of his fake connector job. Enzo takes it. Even during the job of connecting with Via, who was involved with the consortium members, Uno was gathering information to fuck Enzo over. Enzo, knowing this and also knowing Uno still used his cock to get to Via, despite his warning orchestrares a trap to punish him, along with showing the hostage of Shadow.
He thought he had Uno under control seeing Uno being obedient and still offering his services. But it turns out its still another trap orchestrated by Uno to actually get himself and vulture enough time to sell the information to another buyer. Tricked by the manufactured closeness and obedience, Enzo gets surprised that Uno had escaped again, managed to sell his information and even arranged a hint on his streaming service watch history.
Now the positions are reversed and Uno is offering Enzo SOME salvation from the impending consequences such as maybe jail, if Enzo offers HIS obedience instead.
Just because there are multiple layers to the plot doesn’t make it pretentious.
