well the Romans weren’t particularly intolerant of homosexuality before Christianity, and it doesn’t look like this story is set AD. It was in fact “anti-Roman” only if the Roman citizen was the bottom in the relationship, and so nobody would bat an eye at this, because the Greek ‘barbarian’ (as they would call him) is the bottom, therefore okay. In any case there was no punishment for homosexuality decreed by the senate. Just in case anyone was wondering

If its like ancient egypt it's basically homosexuality is alrighty okie dokie but bottoming is, hilariously, social ruin

I love the panel in ch 76 in which the cut above the eyebrow is rotated sideways so it looks almost like a vulva. In medieval manuscripts they would depict the holy wound of Christ in that same rotated, disembodied way. Meditations would also describe feeding off the blood and body of Christ in an almost eroticized way. Not that I think this is an intentional reference, but very interesting that it’s so similar. St Thomas also pushed his fingers inside the wound in Christ’s torso after he was resurrected, which reminded me a lot of the scene in which Garam peers inside the cut. How cool!!

I think it's deliberate! This story is spiked with symbolism and references starting with it's name.

call me old fashioned but i was raised to serve my wife. i clean the dishes and cook her food. i do whatever she says because she is my wife and she makes the rules around the house. she owns me. i am her property. if she ever cheats on me its because i was lacking.

astonishing, quality work. Love it when something is obviously made with love. Small details like jiho’s phone being cracked gives a real sense of life to a character. I also like how both of them have certain moments of disliking/being irritated by something the other said/did. It really reflects the unromanticism of being disappointed when you get to know people…I think I can just really appreciate how realistic it all feels. Reminds me a bit of the movie Before Sunrise :D

honestly the concept would be really sweet if this didn’t develop romantically, lol. Seju healing his trauma of his younger sister and so forth. Not complaining just sayin I feel like it would be equally good (if not better) if this was a story about familial love/found family. Idk maybe falling for the person raising you is too Freudian for me. Love this tho, the bar is low but I’m just grateful seju isn’t a pervert lmao
