I read the official version of the manhwa so I am only at chapter 96, but I finished the novel a couple of weeks ago. There is and there isn't. If I interpret your comment correctly, it's just Yoon Seo being Yoon Seo

Yeah it’s definitely taking some creative liberties. The Trimule is a manhwa addition as well as the whole “can’t be together” thing. Initially I suspected they included the trimule to give us some of the side story smut now since the actual side stories are really long and plot heavy and they may not have enough time to cover it all while still giving us smut. Now I’m a little confused by the direction because it feels like this is going to be unnecessary melodrama that’s going to end in “oh that was just our misunderstanding sorry you had to go through 50 chapters of angst”.

I guess I'm not tripping then I hope this doesn't ruin the flow of the story LOL

Like others said, they are useless, smut doesn't bother me when it's appropriate, but here it isn't. I You may also want to skip chapter 90 if you haven't read/finished the novel (spoiler about the great dungeon).
