I think the thing that bothers me the most out of the ending is that we didn't get to see Dan deeply grieve his grandmother or even the relief he might feel that her suffering was over. I feel like it should have been more than a few panels, as his motivation for everything in this has always been his grandma. I feel like it should have been a chapter or 2 covering it.
