I liked what the architect said about a house could mean family or lineage. Each house shown reveal so much about a family. Looking back at the bilateral Japanese home it feels like the long dark hallway leading to the alter signified the dark family secret dating back years. The windowless rooms and locked doors showed how much the family kept in the dark. The rigid geometry showing strict order?

Looks like Yuwon did intervene for someone just not for Dohoon as his recounts of the past would indicate. According to the onlookers there was someone else being bullied until Yuwon like an idiot stepped in to defend him and ended up like that. Dohoon steps in initially to provoke the bullies to hit him so that Yuwon will get in the way again but he’s changed. Dohoon instead blocks the bullies. Why didn’t Yuwon intervene? Maybe he was just scared and didn’t want to make things harder than it already was. There’s one scene in Yuwon’s pov where he says everytime he would talk back to the bullies they’d take it out on Dohoon. (ch 52-53) Knowing what we know now it was Dohoon talking back and it highly likely made the bullying worse. The monologue taken place in that scene were probably Yuwon’s true feelings. I’ve also had this theory that the first time they met maybe Yuwon was put into the orphanage place shortly after. I thought this because of how he freaks out after defending dohoon saying his aunt will yell at him which she does as shown in chapter 63. Also the director alludes to the fact that he was put in there by his aunt bc he won’t comply to the rules (ch 50) It’s just a theory but either would explain why he chooses to ignore when Dohoon was getting roughed up in this current chapter. I honestly think growing up Yuwon would often get blamed for a lot of things we see it in class as he’s blamed for being bullied, he’s even blamed for the reason why he got left at the orphanage and why he instantly shifts to blaming Dohoon right after saving him and in the future it’s second nature at that point.
Also, the night of Dohoon’s welcome party he asks Seungmin did you talk to him first? I feel like he was trying to feel for whether Yuwon has changed or not. If you remember Yuwon’s last conversation with Seungmin (ch 32) Seungmin brings up how when he first started Mr oh kept making him do errands but Yuwon stood up to him and got chewed for it. He also in another chapter says he just rolls with the punches. Seungmin asks why he ever did that knowing he had a target on his back. This shows Yuwon really hasn’t changed he still moves without thinking just not when it came to Dohoon.
