i'm gonna be so sad if charin dies like between two red-eyed blondies charin is more interesting to me than tahir....
charin will die tragically, not before he confesses that he loves jin as well. the emotional shock will cause jin to reawaken his memories completing his transition from lapdog to his prior self (being a psycho? idk) and that'll be the conclusion of his story. then we move on to the other mcs
i have no idea what's coming next lol but have a bad feeling that charin is gonna die tragically :/ i really like him as a character...
Hayden straight up telling Brett he KNOWS he was bullshitting about wolves and sheep is a POWER MOVE. Hayden is saying that he saw through how Brett was trying to manipulate him. This is him asserting power ie. “I was NOT manipulated by you, I KNEW and yet I CHOSE to take your hand.” He's establishing his agency and how he's not just going to be another person that Brett plays around with.
Right now you can tell Hayden is clearly still suspicious of Brett. Meanwhile, we still don't really know what Brett is thinking because he seems so unpredictable and so flighty, things are kind of a game to him. He's not necessarily a bad person btw!!! He's just clear about what he wants, and he'll give equal benefit to the other person so it's "fair"
This chapter lays out how Hayden and Brett are different really well:
Hayden believes that humans can, and should, rise above their “animal” instinct; he finds concepts like nobility, sacrifice and love very attractive. Brett is a “realist” and find those concepts ridiculous, and thinks there is nothing wrong w/ just accepting your nature.
Brett is also a huge thrill seeker and adrenaline junkie. He likes taking risks and unpredictability. He doesn't like plays bc he doesn’t like the fact that an ending is already decided by someone else. He likes football because he likes how the ending could go differently every time.
this is how Brett keeps dominance; ie. he likes unpredictability bc he doesn't want anyone deciding his "story"/"fate".
But what’s interesting is that Hayden writes scripts; so he’s the one who “decides” on the ending when he writes. So fundamentally Hayden and Brett have incompatible personalities and expectations. In some ways this is kind of a fight for “power” between two alphas with their notions of how the world should operate. Which is why this is SOOOO GOOOD.
beyond the hot dynamic b/w brett and hayden, i also love how immersive the story is - like it feels so true to an american (ivy league?) college. the dialogue is so excellent you really get a sense of the character's personalities even the side characters. i've read the raws and it just gets better and better...blaming losers for giving this a low rating when it's like a top 3 bl out there
he's soooo fun and complex and sneaky and assertive. i seriously adore alphaxalpha where the bottom actually feels like an alpha
i keep getting my hopes up bc he acts so arrogantly and struts around like he's a badass but his actions with ML are just the opposite ugh i cringe so hard when he talks about topping bc it's just embarrassing at this point
10/10 also i loveee Dex he's like my Jim Kirk insert - if anyone has recommendations of bl's that feature a similar character as Dex please let me know <3
actual plot, fun unique dynamic b/w ml and mc. i think it might be hard to translate though
the way the plot gradually unfolds and we're having things revealed to us with each gameplay is rly fun. honestly wish we could skip the sex scenes bc i just wanna know what happens next

ive read some chn translations and when i tell you this is already one of my top BLs..the writing is SO FUCKING GOOD and the characters are both very interesting, especially Brett who is actually very hard to read + strategically/playfully (?) manipulative despite presenting as your typical jock. meanwhile hayden is very grounded who can read the situation but def has a crazy streak...its another rare couple that doesn't fall into classic BL stereotypes. it's a shame ppl complain about it being hard to understand bc i think it's pretty easy to understand that the story is about the actual reality of ABO ie. animal instincts and whether you decide to embrace them or not even if they risk harming someone. also ACTUAL AlphaxAlpha animalistic violent sex yumyumyum so many supposed Alpha/alpha stories end with the bottom "alpha" acting like an omega, whereas here Brett is sooo alpha and confident all the way through. there are actual developing feelings and chemistry between them too arrrggghhh its just sooo good. deserves to be super popular
