This particular story isn’t real but all the abuse and violent actions depicted in this story do very much happen a lot in real life (e.g David Star, Joe Ryan, Bill Cosby, etc). It’s crap reasoning to disregard the actions in this story solely because it is fiction. I think games are such a waste of time, but that's my opinion, I don't go around lecturing and telling people to stop wasting their time on them, I let them be. Their life their choice. It doesn’t matter that it’s fiction. This particular story isn’t real but all the abuse and violent actions depicted in this story do very much happen a lot in real life (e.g David Star, Joe Ryan, Bill Cosby, etc). It’s crap reasoning to disregard the actions in this story solely because it is fiction. You wouldn’t praise a person for raping or SA-ing a person in real life but you love this character for doing such a thing in a manhwa?
But like also that fact it is fiction is bad because it can make unrealistic expectations of relationships in life and getting too caught up in fiction can lead to our relationships in the real world being affected, even slightly unconsciously, by the stuff we read online, even if we “know the difference” between fiction and reality.
The line between the two can often become blurred as they are able to mirror our reality so well and this can directly influence readers by giving them a new perspective but in Jinx the way that it is written romanticises violent and abusive relationships which can then affect the mind and make readers think that the actions depicted are not bad or even attractive as a result of it being fiction. It basically says that victims should find this pleasurable and that perpetrators are being romantic. It can make readers think that what they’re doing is a part of normal relationships.
