Lots of comments here about the heroine being weak. Given the rules of ancient Chinese society and how limited she was in options, not to mention conduct, not really. What the story lacked was not only flow, but a slightly more realistic cast of characters to make things interesting. They all feel like cardboard cutouts with no depth. There's the smart angelic goodie twoshoes, the good faithful lover, the powerful jealous lover, all with no personal quirks or faults. They don't seem real, so the romance doesn't seem real and lacks the power to engage.
This started out as being promising, but quickly went downhill. The pacing was way off and the characters were very flat. It felt like the main character was stripped of any personality for the convenience of the plot and as a weak attempt to tug on readers heartstrings. In the first chapter we got to see bits of her actual personality and I liked what I saw. A refined, educated girl who knew how to be herself in a place and time where noble women are seen more as property and status symbols than people. But after that it's like someone popped the balloon that was her personality and she was reduced to nothing more than a plot device with sad eyes. And the so-called 'villain' of the story swung so much between honorable prince and possessive Asshole that it gave me whiplash. In the beginning it's established that the 9th Prince and Yun Qie have a friendly relationship despite status differences. He's also shown to be quite fair and level headed, so his sudden switch to Asshole mode completely came out of nowhere. I was expecting there to some issues with jealousy and even a love triangle, but the author butchered their own story and characters so much that it just became a jumbled mess. In an attempt to create drama, the characters and plot were sacrificed to lazy writing. Even the happy ending was rushed and felt insincere. All in all, it was a good idea but poorly executed. There are much better manga with similar setups out there, I'd suggest reading one of those instead.
man, i dont like the girl so weak (〜￣△￣)〜 i like strong girl than a weak girl, sorry for being so harsh through its true (Sorry im not good at english) but it was a cute story i like the ending so sweet (づ￣ ³￣)づ
I know that it's going to sound harsh but I don't see the point of the story because everything just went buy in a flash like everything was packed in a hurry.
i feel it's not completed yet... because i think many plots was skipped, like her mother progress, and that 9th prince suddenly agree. -_- need longer..but ending fine duh

I don't know if its exactly what your looking for but crazy girl shin bia has a strong female lead and its historical. Its actually one of my favorites. Another one is gu fang bu zi shang manhua. Absolute witch also had a strong female lead. The one manhua also has a strong female lead but in a different sense than the others I mentioned here also its not historical. Another one of my favorite strong female characters is in futsumashi na yome desu ga. She is a perverted main girl. Its really funny because usually its the guy who acts that way. If you like these I can list more if you want.
I actually just thought of the perfect story to recommend. She is a female assassin that gets reborn into a small child from the past. She is seriously strong character and she does fight for the man she loves. Fenglin Tianxia - Wangfei shisansui manhua manga. This one is shounen though.

People complain about her being weak, but what exactly do they expect her to do? She is doing what she can within her limits.

Agreed. The pacing of the last chapter was completely different from the others, so the end felt rather slap-dash
