I was a middle schooler when I read the manga. It has made me cry back then, and tonight at 02:03 in 2020, it has made me cry once more. It'll forever be a favorite, and I desperately want to have this series in my hands (to have the actual manga).
It's such a beautiful story, and it gives me a hint of hope for love, since I too, am not a very feminine girl like Ito, at the beginning. It's so beautiful.
Did they go through 2nd year(11th grade) for two years? Cause when the story starts, they're 2nd years and by chapter 22 a year has already passed (they go through two Christmases and one summer vacation) and yet Ito and Makoto are still in 2nd year and Tsugumi is in 3rd year. I know weird timelines sometimes are included in long school life mangas but damn Mako's just trying ta graduate.
I'm pretty sure it's an unspoken rule not to mention that. I mean like third years being third years from the MC's 1st year to their 3rd... such things are a forever unchanging part of our favorite High School mangas.
There's a sequel...I have not read it yet but I wonder if that is where it is Blues_in_the_Night
There is a sequel, I've read like 6 volumes (online) and lemme tell you, it's a good closure for such a good story.
It's ongoing due to translation, but it focuses on side character. Like Toki sempai and the little loli. It focuses on Ito's childhood friend (blonde guy) and Misaki. It also focuses on Mako's and Ito's career ans marriage.
Im just waiting for the wedding scene, and hopefully, a look in the future with Ito and Mako's kids.
I like this manga a lot, but the question still remains: why did they cone to like each other so fast? Just by one chapter, and hardly any romantic events ( she did support him and help him, but aren't friends supposed to do that?) Did they develop their feelings while we weren't looking, like off stage or so?
damn! damn! damn! this is the most wonderful gender bender shoujo manga i hv ever read, i really love the main couple story, huhuhu n i really wanna hv big bro like ryuya n yuuto n keep them for myself (≧∀≦) my heart was broken sorrow to know they hv their love story with another girl though, well happy ending for everyone (▰˘◡˘▰)

There's actually W-Juliet II here! It's "W-juliet Ii" and it has 3 volumes and 10 chapters

Like Romeo and Juliet they fell in love very quickly so I think it makes sense that there was no build up of feelings like in other shoujo manga.
