I'm a straight A student but I totally don't feel like one.. out of the students with straight A's I feel more average than anything else. The effort I put in is really nothing compared to others but I don't want to feel left behind so I try however I can to maintain my grades. I was a straight a student until my parents forced me to be honeschooled (an online private school) and then I gave up and now I have really grades and I don't do my work. and my parents wasted their money. it as honestly a relief once I started getting bad grades. like a weights been lifted off my shoulders, plus iw as never planning to go to coll...... reply
I was a straight A student up until my high school/college (for grade 11,12). The reason i freaked out if I didn't get at least 90% on my tests, my family (I lived in a joint family) would start being very condescending, angry and stuff like that. i get the highest marks in my year but still i kinda feel like they're all just flukes yk? kinda like an imposter syndrome or smth-? bc i dont study at all but still get As (the equivalent in the uk is 1-9 grade system) but if i got anything less id probably be disappointed in myself too- i can see why your friend got discouraged reply
It’s a lot of determination and zero social life unless you have a good study partner to work with, then a lot of determination and someone to chat with on brain breaks.
Assigning value to something like academic excellence is not something you can say isn’t really important because value is usually intrinsically determined and very personal. reply
