Once the quality of the characterization, story and pacing decline in long-running comics I haven't seen it go back up later on. If you aren't looking forward to reading it anymore then unfortunately it isn't worth your time.
It's always so sad to see a story that started out really interesting become drawn out and lacking nuance or interest ;-;

Hmm most of the time, yes. For example manhua like Douluo Dalu/Soul Land series. I used to like these stories especially the school competition arc but when it got to ch 200+, I'm finding myself uninterested to the overall plot. So yea I decided to drop those. But then again sometimes I do check out the latest chapter to see if it started to become...... reply
I'd go through the chapters a bit faster (and maybe even skip some) but i wouldn't stop reading if it gets boring. Altough i would stop reading if something happens i dislike reply
