Real Life Problems

I'm genuinely curious as to why people put so much 'power' into these two words. I mean if we hadn't put any meaning behind, them no one would have to be offended. We wouldn't have to care if we were called them, because at the end of the day, they're just two words said by people.

I mean sometimes in songs, there are people who would say them because it's not really directed towards anyone. However, sometimes when I've others say the [n-word] or the [gay slur] people go off on them.

Yeah, I understand that people now and of the past were called this, but if we just stopped putting meaning and 'power' behind it, it would just be a word among other words.

But just curious though: Why do people put 'power' in words like [n-word] and [gay f-word slur]?

Sorry but. I'm aware how tired everyone is on this topic already, i just have a few questions and thoughts. Bare with me, i do not have malicious intent, these are genuine questions. So i ask that you be respectful to each other at least. First off i want to say I don't care what you read or do it's your life go nuts. On the topic of yaoi I've met so many different "fujos" and such. So everytime the topic of "fujos" came up i was like yeah "not all of them are like that". And even thought it doesn't matter. But ive seen some recent behaviors that promote an absolutely abysmal mindset imo that i just can't help but find problematic and have to call out. The justifications of obviously toxic behaviors. The excuses, the obscene whataboutisms. The obvious downlow homophobia? The belittling of each other. I don't get it. Why are all these young to straight up adults justifying and belittling rape, pedophilia, incest? Especially when it comes to men? I didn't care until i saw the same people get super mad/disgusted at other forms of it in the same way. It was so disgusting to see the sudden 180° to just straight up justifications and the belittling just so they could have a reason to continue that same behavior they claim "only crazy fujos do". How are you not the same as those people? You can acknowledge something is wrong and still partake in content as long as you're not promoting it, but to justify it whlist being lowkey homophobic makes me think that it is having an effect of their view on mlm. Like yeah rape/pedo/incest bad but do you actually understand that? Y'all clearly do. just not when i comes to men i guess. Read what you like but i honestly think you should be careful of how you talk about these kinds of topics from now on you have no idea what types of behaviors you could be displaying without realising that it's harmful. I have no hate for fujos but that Circumstantial justification needs to stop. Its not a good look when rape/pedo/incest/obsession is ok in one situation and not the other. Fiction has an impact on reality and vice versa. Stop justifying it to minors too. Half are adults who know better and half are minors.

Tl:Dr All you "not as bad fujos" need to stop giving ""Bad fujos"" justification passes they're getting worse and alot of their mentality whether you like it or not starts to rub off and actually starts to normalize values i'm sure you don'tt agree with. Read whatever you like but don't promote problematic behaviors. Im pretty sure there are studies that support that fiction does effect reality whether you acknowledge it or not so be mindful.
