As a victim of abuse, if someone ever comes to you, talking about their situation, never blame anything on them until you have a grasp of a situation. If you're being abused right now, please let someone know. Even if your parents say that you should be grateful that they still feed you and clothe you, that is the bare necessities, let someone know......   reply

Abuse is used so often that it's normalized as "discipline". To the people who blame themselves it's not your fault your parents are just in a fucked up state give me a virtual hug.   reply

some relationships are really mentally draining. like ones in which they treat you really well at first, and then plunge you into a hellish torrent- only to then treat you well again like nothing happened. it makes it so hard to tell whether they truly care for you or not.   reply

i think the main reason why people may put up with abusive/ toxic parents is because:
1) lack of financial independence
2) nowhere else to go
3) not all abuse is physical or easily spotted. sometimes it can be covert (like parents who are too involved in kids' lives) or simply a parent that neglects their kid by being unavailable/busy all the time
4) they rely on this parents
5) other intimates don't believe the kid or see the abuse as 'normal parenting'
6) the victim is in denial and wants to believe in the love they have for their parents, hoping that things are better than they actually are
7) it may be a difficult situation

and many other reasons too.

thats just my 2 cents i think its unfair to blame the victim.
Leaving is hard, much harder than one would think.
it is so hard to move out nowadays.
(and as for parent who are always busy it is hard to tell if they do it on purpose or not, some parents have to work a lot to feed family)

Most people don't really want to get to know my ugly ass, so they usually perceive me as ugly, shy, quiet, and have difficult speaking to others, failure and disappointment to the world, usually contradict myself a lot, I get sad over stupid things. and they're right. ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ   reply

Ikr meetings can be so nerve-wracking! and isolating sometimes. i think you should still attend though because they may discuss things that are important. Hopefully with time you can get into the rhythm of them and get more used to them. for one class zoom, i only started talking in like the 4th week XD   1 reply

People in my family tend to treat me as very innocent or stupid- as if i'm a weird, soft soul most of the time. It's really annoying. Or because I'm alright at my academics, some people treat me like I'm a perfect student. I'm neither! I'M A MESS!!!!!!!!   reply
