Same thing happened to me. The best thing to do is just read slow burn yaoi with very less intimacy or almost none at all. Just pure fluff. I dunno why it worked on me because now I would really anticipate the intimacy because I sat through the slow burn for it. Yeah, several times. TBH I pretty much enjoyed reading BL when I was in my 20s, but nowadays I find many of them shallow, boring, or cliché. I have still some favorite ones I wanna finish (e.g., Shutline), but I'm focusing more on K and Jdramas + movies with gay/homoerotic subtext or queercoding. sometimes you need a break from the way you consume yaoi like if i been reading too much manhwa i move to manga or look for fics on ao3 and sometimes watch bl animes. Also switching to novels. i find switching whether its manga/manhua/manhwa keeps it fresh. I also read alot of straight romance manhwa and occasionaly manga. Also reading psychologica......   reply

I've been reading since i can remember. Yaoi is just one of the genre. Idk why it's addicting. I do have my ups and downs. I rarely read nowadays. I mean it's been years since pandemic.
