Hakuouki. It's a reverse harem but the romance is a subplot and most times any interaction is friendly and supportive. It's actually more of a historical documentary as you see the group's progression but because of the conflict and wars, fate and times are cruel.   2 reply

It's been years since I've read it, but Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan hit me pretty hard. Not quite the same art style as a CLANNAD or an Air, mind you, but might be worth reading anyhow?   reply

I'd recommend AIR, Kanon (2006), and possibly the Little Busters anime adaptations since they were made by the same company as the creators of Clannad, although their visual novel counterparts are better in my opinion. Other than that, I'd say Angel Beats, Anohana, and Plastic Memories   reply
