I know you only mentioned homo/hetero people, but I am asexual. I masturbate (to ALL.), but I don't want to have sex with men or women.
If I decided to become someone that drew yuri for a living, would that be bad? Personally I don't think so... 3 reply
1. You can't culturally appropriate porn. Especially porn allegedly depicting a sexuality - there's no such thing as "gay culture" in reality, even though we joke about it. Not even an "authentic homosexual experience", not one that's the same for all of us. How you experience your orientation is wildly different depending on your actual culture - ...... reply
I don’t believe that being homosexual is a culture, and while I do think fetishsizing homos are bad, these are just fictional stories and ‘cartoons’ at the end of the day, and I don’t see much fetishsizing. If this was porn hub maybe it’d be a different story 2 reply
if it's about the story being realistic, i think it always depend on the person no matter what their sexual orientation are? bcs hetero can also write a realistic story about homosexual and i'm sure not all homosexual write realistic story about homosexual either. for example if you ever read hetero porn, it isn't always realistic. that's just what...... 1 reply
If people could only write about things they have/are directly experienced then the world of fiction would be extremely boring and repetitive. You don't have to be lbgtq+ to respectfully depict a gay/lesbian relationship. You might not be able to grasp every aspect of it but that's exactly the same thing when you are writing about anything else you...... 1 reply
i am pansexuel and i think this is bullshit
sorry my honest opinion with all my respect
even a heterosexual person can create a realistic homosexual relationship story
and even if not i am not here to look at realistic things
if i want realistic gay porn i go to youporn and look up gay amateurs home videos
and so by the way every form of porn i...... reply
As long as its not offensive and spreading misinformation, I don't see the issue? I am straight but in my opinion thats like stating Stan Lee should've not written black panther due to being a white person. I mean i personally don't even consider yaoi and yuri as pornography? I want to read for the romance and story aspect, I'm personally sick of f...... 2 reply
yes and no
depending on how the author handles the relationship, i don't think it's much of the problem.
some people might've found that the top/bottom dynamic to be heteronormalised as most gay people are switch, but for me, a queer person, it's not. maybe because i'm an exclusive bottom and pillow princess that i usually avoid reading story fro...... 1 reply
Yaoi/Yuri is definitely fetishized and I think that some of it is genuinely harmful! How many of these books have normal, non violent/abusive portrayals of bl? I haven’t read much of yuri so I can’t comment on that, but I always find myself thinking that if some of these common bl tropes were done in shoujo they would be completely unacceptabl...... reply
I'm a bisexual female and personally I really don't mind who writes the story, as long as its got a decent plot I really don't care, but I definitely understand the points you have given. reply
