I quite like BL, like every other genre it has its pros and cons. I do wish it didn't fall into stereotypes so much but honestly, the media does it better than any other source of gay fiction outside of video games for me.
I always found it odd when people complained about yaoi being porn...when that's kinda the point of ya...... reply
I never really cared about people being gay or so and I had a gay friend, so I had to deal with this topic the whole time. My mom said randomly that she wouldnt mind me bringing a girl at home and I realized that I actually dont care abour gender at all. All that matters to me is the character. I looked for a name of this kind of sexuality and foun...... reply
I love yaoi but like everything in life there's pros and cons. First of all, I don't like that many authors make their characters feel guilty about being gay or bi. Is like they think its wrong writing about same sex love, when it should be the opposite. I feel like they use stereotypes way too much. Many mangas, make lgbtq2+ people be promiscuous,...... 1 reply
It sounds as if you're a bit on the young side and we've all had those growing pains about now knowing how to ask questions the right way. It's something I tell my students all the time and help them correct their behavior with when they ask other ESL students about where they grew up. There's a difference between asking a question and making an as...... reply
It took me a long time to realize I was bi b/c when I was younger that was something that people thought preteens did just to get attention, so I didn't want to be labeled that way. When I was like 13 I just kind of felt the urge to google photos of naked women because it made me feel turned on, but I didn't really recognize that's what it was maki...... reply
I'm a bisexual woman, like most things, I can enjoy it for what it is while recognizing that a great deal of it is problematic. I try to stay away from BL that displays unhealthy, toxic relationships, but honestly it seems to be most of them to some extent or another! I read an article pointing out how BL usually exists in a world where women like,...... reply
it's not wrong to be curious about things you're not familiar with, of course. but you shouldn't ask questions you wouldn't ask a straight person. it's pretty rude, and we're not different from straight people, like we aren't out here doing stuff that's wildly different. yaoi and yuri are both really not realistic, because number one; it's fictiona...... reply
cis woman, pansexual, love BL and queer graphic media in general, i like that there is more representation, i think it helps to fight some prejudices while reinforce others, still BL is often more endearing to me than heterosexual romance, of course there are many cringe worthy titles, and ridiculous tropes like glorified rape and self lubricating ...... reply
Im straight and in my country, people are really judgemental and the society makes every lgbtq+ issues a big deal (like come on, people). Anyway, people (all gender) here don't usually kiss (intensely) in public but when I see one, i feel really proud of them. Part of me feels shy though, because i know myself that people around me will judge them...... reply
