Almost all shoujo stories have literally the same concept i get really bored from them :)
They always make the female mc so dumb and annoying i CAN'T stand it.
They were some "straight couple" stories that i enjoyed and i currently enjoy (haru no ride, kamisama kiss, noragami, tbhk, ohshc etc....)

I live in an Islamic country so if anyone in my family learns that I look at sex I will be doomed just imagine what would they do if they found out that I read gay porn. My first foray into yaoi was ofcourse the more popular/better titles and what I liked about those (compared to shoujo) was how both characters in the relationship actually feel like human beings. Like they have emotions and actually work on solving their issues unlike most shoujo where there's always this "perfect" but ruthles...... reply
I honestly don't know why I like it myself.
But while I agree with you that yaoi (except shonen ai) is indeed just gay porn. However, it is more than that. It is a love story. It is discovering yourself and loving someone despite society's hatred.(wait did I get weirdly weird??)

well for me as a fujoshi YAOI is just a part of my life. The thing that makes yaoi so special for me is that the stories are often much more interesting than those of hetero stories. This is really funny because I wasn't always a fujoshi. When I started reading manga in high school, it was mainly shoujo or jousei that I was reading. It wasn't till I got to college that I got more into BL. For me, I don't like to call BL "gay hentai" because that is a blanket statement. Hentai is porn, and porn doesn't have very interesting plot...... reply
