It's true that many yaois are built around the trope "straight guy turned gay", I guess that's kind of a fetish for someone (and don't forget: yaoi is basically porn). I think a lot of yoai fetishizes "turning the straight guy gay", rather than saying outright that a guy can like both women AND YOU (the gay protag). It stems from that stupid "pick a side" biphobia that is present in society.
