If someone is too forward, it's very jarring. If we haven't really gotten to know each other yet, it's uncomfortable that this person, boy or girl, is taking it too seriously. It’s not really a gender thing tbh, but more of a “slow your roll there pal.” Some people aren’t ready to digest someone who loves/likes them when they don’t even love themselves nor love/like that same person. It can feel intimidating if someone likes you way more than you like them, even in platonic relationships. I say this as a woman who has scared people off by being too affectionate and clingy. Another possibility is that they have so low self-esteem that they, sadly, find it creepy that someone would like them that much. I say this from experience ...... reply
I don't think it's fair to relate if he's the only one who's enjoying it and not me. My therapist advised me to try to see if I really want the person and not just want to feel loved without loving back. reply
