Personally, I usually prefer Japanese manga. I find that I'm less likely to start, and far more likely to drop webtoons. There are positives and negatives to webtoons compared to manga that are actually kind of related. On the positive side, because webtoons aren't tied tightly to the traditional publishing industry, creators can take risks more ea......   reply

I understand how you feel. I affect my parents the most. I feel very emotionally detatched-sometimes even disgusted. I can't look at my mom without feeling empty. She tells me how hurt she is by this, but I can't fake a smile (seriously, people tell me). She recently had surgery in hopes of removing pre-cancerous cervical cells. When she told me, ......   1 reply

In general, I prefer Japanese manga. They usually have a deeper and more aesthetic atmosphere, even when the art is not really polished and all black-and-white. If I compare them to food, they'll be pasta - you have to eat slowly by using a pork. The ingredients are basic and simple but oh so delicious ლ(´ڡ`ლ) While I also have some favorite ......   1 reply

I've had times like this where I just stop feeling emotion and everything is about just getting to an end. It's not like how you're experiencing it but people react like that all the time so you know you're still human. I don't really know anything about this but I assume it has been a couple of years of just feeling like that which may be somethin......   2 reply

tbh i dont really care. if the story is interesting then i'll read it. but something that i've always noticed (and it kinda bothers me too) about korean webtoons is how there ALWAYS NEEDS TO BE A PSYCHOPATH/SOCIOPATH in the story. it's not just bl, i've seen it in action and shoujo even. like, why?? why can't we have an antagonist without them havi......   reply

First, i want to say that i'm talking only about the BL aspect. Japanese mangas. Why? Because i found the things i like more in japanese mangas. Of course there are a lot of bad mangas just like how there are a lot of bad korean webtoons. But if you really look thoroughly, you'll find good japanese mangas. And if a japanese manga is good, oh boy i......   3 reply

In general? Probably Japanese. tl;dr: Korean webtoons critics: looks like the plot were made by a bunch of people in a meeting room, forgettable events, doesn't take risks,... There are a lot more Japanese mangas that feel really original. A lot of Korean webtoons feels like they are economically motivated and ideas were pushed out by a group of ......   6 reply

Hi there. I also feel this emotional disconnect (although not as much as you), so I've searched into this topic of not feeling emotions like normal people before. I've come across a few topics you could research into which may describe your condition. Schizoid personality disorder- A detachment to social relationships and emotions (this seems ver......   reply
