Fiction, non-fiction doesn't matter. It's a vile act. Portraying romanticized rape in fiction is unnecessary, manipulative, and even harmful—especially when it feeds into real-life misconceptions about sexual assault that are often used to deprive rape survivors of legitimacy or justice.

Anyone can write stories about rape but should they when they know nothing about it?
It's just lazy writing.

There are stories about rape that are worth telling. But without extensive research into the problems, stereotypes, and struggles that rape survivors face—including what makes rape different from other forms of violence—it's too easy for fictional depictions to contribute to those issues rather than combat them. With so many other narrative tools out there, using rape is almost always unnecessary. There are better ways to tell nearly any story, so why use the one that tends to be both the laziest and the most harmful?

The "rape fantasy" that some of you have would be consensual. I don't think you would want to be raped by some unknown man in his late 50 or whatever.
The turn-on may be the idea of being forced to have sex for many individuals, but they do not actually want to be raped.

It depends how it's framed, and how its used. If it's used as a start to romance I will most likely avoid it. Or if it's framed as a sexy thing i'll tend to avoid it as well. I like OUROBOROS because it actually treats rape like its supposed to, detrimental, harmful, and traumatizing. As for people who read and enjoy rape in fiction...ehhh if they'......   reply

Personally I'm cool with it, if you know how to separate fiction and in real life. What I'm annoyed is about the snowflakes and moralist who can't separate work of fiction to reality, like if you say that this manga/manhwa has rape in it but it's fiction they'll just say "iT pRoMoTeS rApE cULtuRe" something along those lines. Geez when will people ......   reply

All I can say is that if your brain is a healthy adult brain, you can separate fiction from reality. I know people can feel uncomfortable, and that’s completely fine. Some people can’t separate fiction and reality for some reason, so they assume the author or reader supports this or that. It’s just the same with horror manga. Some people won......   reply

(READ THIS EVEN IF IT'S LONG, IT'S FOR YOUR SAFETY.) Me too ik the difference between this two. But it's still really disgusting to see something that is happening right now to people out there, is used in a manga as "just for fun", it's really not funny seeing something like that and then seeing people that like this stuff and i even see some comm......   1 reply

* As a victim of r@pe, I feel like anything regarding that topic you should really just keep to your self. Such as having a kink that revolves around r@pe, fantasizing about r@pe, and enjoy reading things that contain r@pe (when it’s a backstory that a character has, I personally don’t care but if it’s to “help” with romance, you can fuck......   reply

I'm not a fan of repeated rape in fiction. If it's once or twice, though, I really don't care cause this is not a trigger for me. There's a huge difference between fetishizing rape (using it to depict something "romantic") and using it to depict a horrible experience. The latter is fine with me cause it's realistic. ... And of course, it always n......   reply
