I had probably the worst day of my life today, especially as a person who strives on academic validation. Based from my observation of reading many chinese manhuas. I have a tip. You just have to look at their artstyle because i don't know why but the shitty ones all have similar artstyle and the hidden gems of chinese manhua have a different kind of artstyle.   1 reply

Verry interesting, in my case most BL series I read might be chinese (for a few years now) mostly because in most of them it's not the typical japanese/ korean "first meeting - sex - hate to love - more sex - relationship - sex again - drama - sex" plot. i haven’t seen anyone ask this here yet so for anyone who received their a level results today how did it go? feel free to brag or rant i have exams next year and i desperately need some sort of motivation or reality check. also what is a good thing to include in your personal statement (other than the usual everyone suggests) especially for law?? i’m planning to apply to oxford, ucl and unis like that for law for please help TT

I generally prefer to read the novel (if there's one) for the chinese manhua (I asked my deaskmate to beat you for example) especially since they tends to be 1. Really long for no reason 2. have a very meh translation with oftentimes sentences that don't make sense/are broken and 3. art that is way too much, like just try a chapter of "Pheromone sa......   reply

As someone who loves to read Chinese novels (I dont read manhua but I noticed how similar the arts... its always their eyes, the nose and face shape), most novels I've read under each genre are almost identical with each other... same plot, just ......   reply

Some manhuas with these tropes are more enjoyable in the novel, (with exception of some) because a lot of them tend to censored and cut off a lot of details when being adapted as a result it will be bland, boring, unejoyable, repeatative, and sometimes confusing.
