Fetishizing Gay Couples?
does being a straight fujoshi mean you fetishize gay couples? i love reading yaoi and BL because the stories are funny, emotional, and well-paced. I won't not read a webtoon or manhwa if it's not BL, but i generally prefer reading BL not just because of the stories but also because the tiktok, instagram and mangago communities are so enjoyable and funny to be a part of. I really do find the concept of fetishizing anyone for anything is absolutely disgusting, so I really want to disassociate myself from it as much as possible and I don't wanna do it even mistakenly.
I want to know whether the mere coexistence of my sexuality and my love for reading yaoi/BL deem me as fetishizing gay couples or a specific action or belief? everyone seems to have a different answer
also i wanna note that i NEVER ship two people who are straight in a gay couple (for example zuko and sokka from avatar) and/or deem a gay couple as actually straight or just "best friends" (yuri and victor from yuri on ice)
That you find this site's... uh, "community" to be "enjoyable" rather than "wildly problematic" as it pertains to yaoi/bl certainly isn't helping your case.
And if you think yaoi is "well-paced" you desperately need to read literally anything else. Yaoi is a lot of things, but "well-paced" is definitely not one of them. reply
