For me, I feel that the reason I'm asexual is BECAUSE of yaoi ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ I enjoy reading about relationships between people, I enjoy the hot sex, the angst, the drama, the cliches and just everything about yaoi. As I grew older and became more aware of myself, I realised that I don't have any desire to have relationships and intimacy. Why?......   2 reply

Yeeeeah, I honestly have no idea. I just like it. Probably something similar to your reason, though, that I as a girl can't see myself in the situations I read. I can't stand reading the heterosexual versions of the yaoi I read, and I haven't been able to connect with yuri at all. Another reason I've concocted for myself is that I'm really suppose......   1 reply

Although I'm still young I'm actually "experienced" and I decided I don't enjoy sex at all. Also love is pointless to me, I'd rather read about it. I just love how cliche yaoi can be and how I can almost accurately predict what will happen next! I can see how authors bounce ideas off of each other, it's so cool and dramatic!   reply

I will read pretty much anything with a good plot. I love it when I read a good story and it gets me emotionally invested. To me, BL is just another manga. Eh I don't actually know why I read BL but I do know I have a goal to read them all.   1 reply

I read it for the romance fluff. I also use it to masturbate and what not. As others have said, I think am more comfortable with yaoi because as a female I could never be in the situation. I'm not supposed to identify as one of the characters which allows me to just enjoy.   reply

I'm specifically an autochorissexual ace. I enjoy indulging in romantic and sexual content of all types, though yaoi is by far my preference. It's just... better. It's more often meant for my gaze, not some guy who wants to see unrealistic boobs or overreactions. Even gay porn is better, IMHO, than straight porn.   reply

I identify as Demisexual usually because I'm open to the possibility of being intimate with someone if we had a strong enough bond even though at present I've never felt any desire to do so. I've been reading Yaoi since I was about 13 or 14 (I'm 26 now) long before I'd even heard of asexuality and for me what draws me in, is the connection between ......   2 reply

Ace and aro here. Since I'm unable to be sexually attracted to anyone, I've always been interested in how romance works. I used to read a lot of hetero romance when I was younger, and I switched to yaoi (and some yuri too) because I got bored of it. I always found interesting the dynamics of love, courtship and sex from an outsider's point of view,......   reply

Asexuality doesnt equal impotence. Aces do get aroused. Everything in our body still works, we just don't want others to get involved. In simpler terms, we just dont want intimacy with another person.   2 reply
