A question for the anime community

Why do you gatekeep anime? Like what kind of satisfaction do you get from gate keeping anime?

Their was this one time where i was watching aot in the bus and i guy came up to me and said “oh you watch aot you probably watch for the hype i bet you simp for levi and eren you probably never heard of naruto and one piece go back to watching riverdale and stranger things” umm- first of all i had been watching aot since 2014 and I believe in the H A N G E SUPREMACY and lastly your opinion aint valid if you wearing a ahegao hoodie and sweatpants the second hand embarrassment i felt was astronomical lowkey wanted to punch the guys for telling me what and what not to watch

Congrats, you met a particularly irritable asshole. Gatekeepers exist in any community, but they're very vocal in the anime one. Just remember that their opinion is shit and you can enjoy anime HOWEVER YOU LIKE, FOR WHATEVER REASON AND IT IS NONE OF THEIR BUISNESS. 1 reply
