A question for the anime community
Why do you gatekeep anime? Like what kind of satisfaction do you get from gate keeping anime?
Their was this one time where i was watching aot in the bus and i guy came up to me and said “oh you watch aot you probably watch for the hype i bet you simp for levi and eren you probably never heard of naruto and one piece go back to watching riverdale and stranger things” umm- first of all i had been watching aot since 2014 and I believe in the H A N G E SUPREMACY and lastly your opinion aint valid if you wearing a ahegao hoodie and sweatpants the second hand embarrassment i felt was astronomical lowkey wanted to punch the guys for telling me what and what not to watch

i understand the guy in your story, i gatekeep because i feel like anime is just a part of my identity you know, watched it since i was a kid and now that it's become mainstream you see loads of people talking, it almost seems like they're trying to flex idk?
