what are y'alls thoughts on ppl who use google translate and produce shit translations?
I've noticed something annoying. Uploaders with zero knowledge on the language from which they are translating, using literal google translate, making bad and/or completely inaccurate translations and bad edits.
And then they'll go
"Uwu I'm so sorry I actually dont understand said language but I wanted to - " stfu. You were irrelevant the moment you admitted you don't know the language.
For what purpose does someone who doesn't even understand the language to want to do translations? Why? Are you seeking approval? Attention? People's admiration? Are you just delusional?
Majority of people who end up reading these shit translations will show how "thankful" they are for the effort. Well, unpopular opinion here, but maybe dont enable people to keep doing this. Dont enable people incapable of knowing the language to delude themselves into thinking they're doing anything useful. Because point blank nothing ruins a potentially good story more than the shit translations.
Please just leave it for people who actually know what they're doing.
Honestly, i cant be bothered sometimes cus it is what it is but I absolutely REFUSE to read ANYTHING translated by Teenmanhwa. I like dogs but I am SICKand TIRED OF SEEING THAT BLASTED DOG reply
While google translate usually gets the direct meaning across, it loses a lot of nuance that the og version has (Slang, word play, etc.). Bottom line is don’t solely use google translate to translate especially if you yourself are not well versed in the language, most often than not it’ll turn out shitty reply
You must've experienced some bad TL today for you to complain about that out of the blue. I get your point. Sure there's those with shitty translations that they don't even bother to edit or recheck but at least have some respect towards those who put in their own personal effort and time to translating these stories you don't even pay for... There’s an easy way around this if it bothers you - don’t read it. Better yet go buy the official one. This site is free AND illegal, you all sound so entitled. reply
