Can you call it grooming in romance stories, where they met when the mc is an Adult and the guy theyre supposed to be in a relationship later on in the story was a child.. and they watched him grow up? like basically raising him and shit but later on develops feelings for him when he's a full grown adult? does that make sense like.. Imagine raising a kid and watching him grow up? how do you feel about it when you read a story involving that plot?
I would say.. it's grooming adjacent. It's definitely predatory and weird. ESPECIALLY if they watched them grow up that's way more disgusting than if they met sometimes as child and adult and dated years later (which is still a bit weird).
