Do I need a reality check?
I find myself questioning if I'm being hypocritical. I find alot of people that call themselves fujoshis gross. While I don't have an issue with reading BL or Yaoi and have enjoyed quite a few, truthfully even masturbated to some, I can't help but feel a sense of disgust when I hear some fujoshis categorize reallife men into either bottoms or tops. Moreover, I'm bothered by certain comments on this site, that seem to fetishize gay men in general and oversimplify real life struggles/ Issues. However, I wonder if I have the right to hold these opinions, considering that my list of read Yaois is four times longer than the one for GL. Being a queer woman, does that change anything or am I just a hypocrite?
Theres truly a lot to think about here, being a queer woman doesnt make you any different than if a straight woman was concerned about this, its valid to feel conflicted when it comes to this. We have to find the root of why you find this sort of content enjoyable, are you fetishizing it or are you just normally consuming BL? Theres a huge differen...... 3 reply
