Did you ever read a story and didn't react the way the story is made for you to respond to?
I read some stories and didn't receive it the way everyone else was. I feel that way about certain stories where I think to myself "this is awful" but then I start to think about what I'm reading and then I start to think "Why tf did the author have to make this scenario" of course they did cuz the wanted to, but why should I really feel sorry or care about this shit(especially about certain stories whose context makes me think even more about how inappropriate it is, and wonder even more why tf it's in the plot), so, in the end, I probably drop it eventually cuz I get annoyed reading these continuous dialogues, arcs, or sub-plots that try to sell me the idea of a certain feeling, but personally I don't vibe with it.
Any story where it's revealed the reason why the MC's parent (almost always the father for some reason??) acted like they hated them was just to protect them. I see this all the time in transmigration / rebirth stories where the author tries to make the twist 'your dad never hated you, he was secretly always looking out for you' and I almost alway...... 1 reply
Stories where ML do some really fk up shits to MC and he got that redemption arc for like two chapters and MC forgive him and they got a happy ending like WTH ?! 1 reply
There are so many power-fantasy manga that work their ASS off to make you think that their MC's are just the coolest ever. I don't think they're cool, but funny and I laugh at them reply
I was laughing all throughout Ghost of the Fireflies and it wasn't even funny, it's a heartbreaking story about two children slowly dying during the war. I didn't think it was sad to watch, the concept was sad, but the movie was boring.
Watch me get grilled in the replies for this I just know it 2 reply
Most romances are like that for me. Like I can’t understand why a certain couple would work.
Obviously The author wrote the characters a certain way because it works for them, but I’ll be questioning how and why? reply
Umm Banana Fish... great story, love it, but I was laughing the ENTIRE time. I watched it with my friend and literally every time a character died, or just something sad happened, we'd make a stupid joke and laugh about it. Now I genuinely can't find it sad, and one reason is because I associate Shorter's death with 5 gum
