i wish i was a man
whenever i go out i literally have to put on eyeliner, mascara, foundation, eyeshadow, blush, highlighter, lip tint and gloss, choose an outfit (cant be the same one as yesterday or the day before, cant be too slutty or modest), wear accessories, straighten my hair or do a curly routine (both of which will take over half an hour) and i still feel like im not pretty enough
men will literally put on an oversized shirt + cargo pants (bonus points if they brush their teeth and dont smell like rotten eggs) and ppl will declare them a fashion icon i literally cant rn
insecurity can wrap our perception of reality.
my advice as a woman- take care of yourself more and treat yourself and be kinder to yourself, self love is important. 3 reply
The thing about this is you’re playing by typical gender rules. You can put on an oversized shirt and cargo pants and go out with no makeup regardless of your gender. I’m sure the people who are judging others (including you) will do so either way.

gender roles are a prison and we're all beholden to them, but you are allowed to abandon all that makeup stuff and genuinely, most people won't care outside of a few jerks. stop wearing makeup if it stresses you out. leave the accessories at home. don't care about your hair unless it's important to its health. stop worrying about having to be a par...... 4 reply
Bro just do whatever the fuck you want and ignore people's expectations of how you're supposed to look
Is anyone FORCING you to do all that shit? reply
so true. its so unfair and painful how society's standards for women are sky high but for men they are lower than hell. women always have to put in top notch effort consistently and even then they won't be noticed as worthy. i dont care what anyone says, our world is conditioned to make everything easier for men. you lost a point the moment you wer...... reply
Meanwhile some guy somewhere out there feels jealous of how diverse women's fashion and beauty options are meanwhile stuff for guys are only composed of t-shirts, jeans, and suits and if he dares to like those "cute" and "girly" stuff for women, people are going to call him names for it.
Trust me there will always be flaws and perks to each gender...... 1 reply
I can kinda relate in that I want to be a man, though not for this reason.
What I dislike more about being a woman is the damn torture we get every month in form of menstruation, then having to suffer huge pain to give birth and deal with all the hormonal changes, postpartum depression and the weight gain that comes with pregnancy (as well as the...... reply
