I can't speak for men so i didn't want to comment but since it's not straight men commenting here anyway I wanna drop my opinion.

I don't think it's common, very few (straight) men feel comfortable enough in their masculinity and sexuality to enjoy love stories regardless of the character's gender. And men read romance way less anyway...... 2 reply
