PET OWNERS I NEED HELP
brought home a stray kitten, and i've got it vaccinated and everything, and even convinced my obstinate animal-hating mother to let me keep it, but my dog is acting like a fkin bitch (ironic lmao), she keeps barking and if I leave the kitten unattended she might just eat that poor thing. how do I make her stop, I've seen a lot of videos of pet owners introducing cats to their dogs and they all act like such angels. my dog is usually very well behaved and listens to me but after I brought the kitten home, it's like she's been angry with me and even growled at me for the first time ever
The other answers given here were great and I'd like to add positive association to the mix. If your dog is food motivated maybe feed her on the other side of the door from where the kitten is so she'll start associating the presence of the kitten with positive things. Timing is key, don't reward her after she's already started getting upset. Just ...... 1 reply
