My parents think I’m a lesbian and I’m straight
My mom told me that both her and my dad think that I’m a lesbian because all of my friends are in the LGBT+ community somehow or another. I’m straight and I feel like I’ve told her so many times. She says I’m obsessed with gay people and it’s like no... I just like RuPaul’s Drag Race sometimes!
Also, not sure if this is relevant but I live in a conservative household and I thought my mom was pretty accepting but the more I listen maybe not.
Am I wrong to feel a little insulted that she doesn’t believe me?
Well for starters, you can sit down and talk to her, i think perhaps she has misunderstood and thinks you don't think she approves of the LGBT+ community or something similar and is trying to hide it from her (but it looks like she's totally chill about it, so that's good). Maybe just explain and have a chat. reply
