there I said what everyone is thinking There is no fucking way in hell that the unemployment rate is only 4.20% in the US it’s probably 15%-20% but they won’t post the real number everyone is poor and struggling
Everyone I know from different fields is struggling and you hear stories of mass layoffs, people with college degrees not being able to get jobs, people with multiple years experience getting offered minimum wage pay, entry level job system people going back to grad school just to get stuck in this feedback loop of not being able to find a job so unsustainable like bruh I got laid off like 2 months ago and I’m struggling to find a job that will even give me an interview forget the job I’m gonna have to sell some of my stuff just to survive now Fuck this shit
It reminds me for the guy that applied for 1000 jobs, almost 800 of those emails where ignored, and the only one where he had to go to like, 3 interviews, they still didn't hired him
And older generations have the balls to say that GenZ is lazy, when in reality, no one wants to hire you unless you have 1000 years of experience, but how can you get...... reply
I’m employed but like, I have to admit, even that is through connections with my husband and my second job is just working WITH my husband, but it was actual hell when I had to look for jobs myself.

oh it definitely is ass. one of the girls i work with is looking for a new job and they are making her jump through hoops for a job paying $15.... like she went to two interviews and a casual meet up so they can get her 'vibes' and then offered her a shit deal with almost no benefits and dropped the bombshell that she'd be expected to cover shifts ...... 1 reply
I'm not unemployed (from the Netherlands btw), but I do have a friend in America who is really struggling to get a job bcs for some reason literally noone will hire her??? She applied for like 20 different restaurants and warehouses and everything and they either ignored her or sent her an email of rejection.

It's definitely BS and part of it is because people who make any amount of money are considered employed in calculating this statistic. Spend a few hours a week driving for doordash or something similar? You're employed. Do freelance commissions occasionally? You're self-employed. Doesn't matter if you don't have a full time job and you make pennie...... reply

Didn't Trump replaced the previous labour statistics head due to high unemployment rate like OP mentioned 15-20% to a guy related to the Project 2025?. The stupidest thing I’ve ever done was quit my job this year without backup. Took me 3 MONTHS to find another one. Ended up working at a warehouse on 3rd shift (I LOVE my job now so it worked out) but damn I have people calling about places I applied to months ago. It’s terrible out there.
