Anyone else feel like there's usually way too much sex in yaoi?
idk man. it's just so excessive. it would be one thing if there was sex once every 5 chapters or something but it's usually an every chapter thing, with one sex scene often lasting multiple chapters. they'll even put a future sex scene in the first chapter before the main couple has even gotten together as a hook?? not only that but the sex is usually so formulaic and boring. ig that yaoi is just meant to be fap material for most people but as someone who actually reads yaoi for the shitty plots (because i like gay /romance/) it just gets so tiring. i don't have a problem with sex per se or i would avoid yaoi altogether, i just have a problem with the frequency of it in bl comics.
can anyone else relate?

There is almost no difference between corn and yaoi nowadays. Same shallow plot and focus on smut, reheated soulless stories that just rely on copying whatever sells. reply
I feel like i get both sides on this, yaoi focuses on sexual relationships to begin with so im expecting sex but like id prefer plot with a side of sex than sex with a small side of plot(if you can even call it that tbh, too many stories the "plot" is just "let me see how much i can rape and tourment this poor person whos already going through it b...... reply
No not most are chinese. They're just censored. Which is why the artist separately post the nc scenes on their sns as they don't wanna get jailed. Kind of a non issue. But try shonenai from mangas unless you are not able to read b&w stories. Some manhwas I agree are just sex with no story though but some stories have their base on smut. Like it jus...... reply
just avoid the ones with a smut tag. there's plenty of them out there.
the smut tagged ones are the ones with sex every chapter, also there's a ton of shounen-ai that isn't Chinese, it's just that Chinese censorship makes almost all of their BL into shounen-ai. reply
I feel like there is too much sex in Josei as well, I do enjoy the spicy scenes (Only if it's consent sex of course) and if it's a smut with no plot then I would understand but if it has an actual storyline, and they focus too much on the smut then I don't like that. A webtoon or a manga with a storyline can have smut in it as long as the author do...... reply

When i first started reading yaoi and stuff i really really liked the sex and would NEVER skip it but nowadays when i read a yaoi and the sex just goes on and on and on and its just too much i full on skip the chapter cus why do they always have to fuck so much bro please chill for a sec reply
