Why are cis straight white men obsessed with Japan?
Genuinely js asking out of curiosity bcs majority of ppl I know irl who are OVERLY obsessed with 'Japan' and 'Japanese culture' are cis, straight, white men. (I put them in quotation marks bcs their obsessed with Japan is usually a very misunderstood or fetishised version of Japan.) Like, what about their perception of Japan makes it so enticing to them?
This is coming from a hafu who looks more Asian than Arab btw so this is js from my personal experience with them
Japan seems to have a LOTTTT of propaganda making it seem like this pristine country. Ever seen those video where they say “Japan is like in 2038 with this invention!!” And then most countries have the same invention. (Either that or it’s just a robot that does something you can do yourself.)
