am i normal?
i think it's just pretty normal?
I make friends easily, I'm pretty good at school, and my parents are chill. no "mommy or daddy issues" or anything. my personality is good ig? quiet and calm. I'm basically as normal as it gets. But I have this obsession with reading dark romance. I'm talking pedophilia, incest, babytrap, non-con, kidnapping, obsession, stalking... basically every dark genre you can imagine. I’ve been reading this stuff like it’s a bedtime story since I was 11 EVERYDAY in mangaowl (i miss mangaowl huhu). anyway I've been hiding my interests since 2020, even online, because of the HATE for dark romance/yaoi stuff which, to be fair, I find understandable. my interest is weird af that's why im aware i should be hiding this. anyway i love harada, i read all their work<33 fav author anyway all my "i already read" list manhwas are gone what the hell? this sh happened in bato too, the manga panel is disappearing so many bugs when they're being attacked, hope they don't take down mangago next huhu.
Every day, an angel loses its wings whenever someone proved Sigmund Freud correct once more. That dude is laughing in his grave every time he sees you read incest slop. 1 reply
Dark fiction can hit the brain differently because it’s extreme and emotionally intense. A lot of people are drawn to that intensity, not necessarily the real-life morality of it. I think self-awareness is the key part here — knowing it’s fiction and not something you’d support in real life. reply
You’re completely normal. It’s fiction. A lot of people love dark fiction and are perfectly normal people. You’re not hurting anyone just by reading something.
This whole “don’t read dark stuff” thing is honestly weird. It’s giving the same energy as “video games make you want to shoot people.” Just really strange logic.

Honestly, I don’t think you’re “crazy” or secretly messed up. lots of ppl read dark stuff because it’s intense and dramatic, not because they want that in real life. Fiction is kind of a safe space to explore extreme emotions and power dynamics.

You've only mentioned the works you consume, how do u act in real life? Do u feel your morals changing because of the media you consume? Your preferences may be abnormal but as long as youre able to distinguish morally in real life, and the fact that you acknowledge your preferences are weird makes you normal.
