This "leave the house when you're 18" Culture, I'm honestly culture shocked by that can y'all give insights on why this happens? Like do you think it's right or not? Do you think it should continue? Why or why not?
In my sub-community you only leave when youre 18 if youre acting wack and your parents are sick of you, or if your parents are acting wack and you’re sick of them lol reply
Honestly I experienced this with a Caribbean father. So I wouldn’t say it’s just an American thing but I don think it might happen more often here due to a lack of stigma. Like in other culture when people hear a parent did that they think less of them. That’s one of the reasons my father lied to my family saying I simply moved out. While on ...... reply
gen dont understand this culture bc in asia people would still live with their parents even after getting married and that's normal. personally im living alone not because i got kicked out but because i chose to enroll in college out of town myself. reply
